July was the month to move house!! Therefore all the jigsaws had to be packed away as I considered them some of easier, bulky items to pack first. This has left my fingers twitching and now that I am happy settled in my new abode I will begin jigging once more. More importantly I have just been given 2 enormous black bin bags of puzzles to check for a summer fete - all 500 and 250 pieces.
Let the jigging commence!
Hope your move went well Emma, and that you and your cat have both now settled in nicely.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your performance in the British Jigsaw Championship. 2hrs 18min is really EXTREMELY fast, especially as it includes 'set-up' time. Billsville Mike, who takes part in the German jigsaw marathon is the fastest puzzler I know - and he has only timed 12 1000pc jigsaws, with only one breaking the 3 hour barrier at 2hrs 50min. (Mike tackles them without the box image apart from the marathon entries - which his record-breaking time was - but he is able to select the jigsaws rather than being given one to do. I think that you should try to concentrate on 1000pc jigsaws in your training if you want to reduce your completion times for next year. I expect most of us wrinklies at BCD are beginning to be held back by ageing eyesight, if not arthritic fingers and a post-retirement laid-back attitude. See you at the next meeting. Best wishes, Jackie.
Thanks Jackie - I am working hard on breaking the sub two hour barrier and only then will I give the winning lady much of a challenge. The 'set up' time is one area I have been working on.
