WASGIJ mysteries for June

I was handed a large number of these to check and June seemed as good a month as any. I have always enjoyed a WASGIJ - bold images, bright colours and the added extra of not quite knowing what you are going to get. However, once you get into a rhythm with them there are similarities - some sort of problem, the same sorts of characters and lots of flesh!! I like some of the variations that the brand has come up with over the years and feel this has helped keep them fresh.

Home is best for May

I've been looking forward to this theme. In our never ending pursuit of always looking for the next biggest and best thing, I sometimes wonder whether we forget the majesty of the British Isles and all it has to offer. From beautiful landscapes, tonnes of history and everything in-between there is certainly plenty to see right here at home. The puzzles I had certainly showcased the very best of British.

Down by the bay and watching the boats in April

I knew I would enjoy this month. Sky and water are two of my favourite parts of jigsaw puzzles. People are often put off by both, saying it's all the same, but that's not quite true. The best puzzles with sky and water in them make use of subtle colour changes, clouds and ripples which a trained eye has to find, making the puzzles all the more challenging. Add the features of boats into the mix and you are in for a treat. I certainly enjoyed the variety of puzzles within this theme.

Messing about on the river in March

I thought I’d have more for this theme than I actually ended up with. Turns out that boats and the sea are popular but rivers less so - or at least that’s what was in my pile. However, each was nice and who doesn’t love a canal boat?

Travelling around the world in February

A fairly broad category to try to shift some of the puzzles I didn’t quite know what to do with. However, it fitted nicely with some wonderful sites and a real range of puzzles. I mean, who doesn’t like a good temple…?

WASGIJ, Impossipuzzle and everything in between

So this month I decided to tackle a pile I had been avoiding in all honesty. It’s not that I don’t like these types of puzzles (although how anyone enjoys a photo mosaic is beyond me), it’s just that they take longer and sometimes I just to puzzle without thinking too hard. Anyway, most of these were actually quite fun to do.
