Few extras

Seems like it’s been a good month for puzzles! Just a few extras to finish. A small puzzle gifted by a friend, my Wentworth cracker puzzle and one I failed to finish at the last BCD meeting. All good fun.

Advent calendar time!

Always a treat to get the Gibson’s advent calendar and as always it was full of lovely little puzzles. Sadly, one had a missing piece and I might contact the company to try to get a replacement, but not too fussed. I just wish they would stop putting the glue in, perhaps giving people the option to buy it if needed. Sorry about the lighting on some - the sun was not cooperating on photo day!

A friend who lends Wentworths

As I’ve said before, I don’t buy myself jigsaws. I get so many given to me to check, that I simply don’t need to! I certainly would never consider buying a Wentworth. I don’t do puzzles more than once so it would be a waste.

However, I’ve recently discovered I’m not the only puzzler at my workplace and one of my wonderful colleagues is lending me Wentworths - hurrah! Even better they are 250 pieces so don’t take too long and fit on a small table.

Phew! Puzzling again

Turns out it was just a blip and I seemed to feel like puzzling again. A really nice range this month from some lovely 500 pieces to a beautiful Christmas 1000 piece. Finished off with a devilishly tricky wooden one where the pieces didn’t fit together quite as one would imagine.

Tomorrow brings the start of December and my Gibson’s advent calendar.

Lost my puzzling enthusiasm.

Hopefully just a blip, but had to almost force myself to puzzle this month. 500 pieces, a nice enough image, but definitely going through the motions? Hopefully next month will be better?

Back to reality

September can only mean one thing - back to school. This September has felt busier than ever, with time for puzzles snatched and limited to 500 pieces or less. However, I managed to squeeze in a nice array, including spending some time with friends at the latest BCD puzzling day.

American road trip find

This summer I was lucky enough to spend nearly 3 weeks in the USA for some sightseeing and most importantly to attend a family wedding. We were accommodated guests at the wedding and imagine my delight upon finding a 500 piece local puzzle in the guest farmhouse. I quickly squirreled it away to my room and luckily it wasn't too big and fit on a side table. A nice way to spend a morning before all the madness of the wedding.

Location: Tamworth, New Hampshire

Time taken: 1.5 hours

Final checking flurry…

Knowing I was away for much of August, I had a bit of a mad dash with my puzzles this month, with the aim being to get as many as possible ready for my local pantomime group so they could sell them at their summer fundraiser. To make the job easier I decided to only do 500 piece puzzles or 1000 piece puzzles that were bright and cheerful. I had a good month and managed 5 in one day at one point. Fingers crossed they all go to great new homes and the joy of jigsaws continues to be spread.
